2025 Primary Election Day is Tuesday, June 10, 2025 - Polls Open 6AM to 8PM

Voters may register to vote at any time; however, in order to vote in a specific election registration must be received 21 days prior to that election.  For the 2025 Primary Election the deadline to register to vote is May 20, 2025. The Borough Clerk’s office will remain open until 8 PM on Tuesday, May 20 to accept paper applications (available at the Borough Clerk’s office and at Vote.NJ.Gov).

Voters may register to vote online at Vote.NJ.Gov or by paper application available at the Borough Clerk’s office and online at Vote.NJ.Gov.

April 16 Deadline to change Party Affiliation for Primary Election

May 20 Last day to register to vote for the June Primary Election 

June 3 Deadline to apply for a Mail-In Ballot by Mail for Primary Election

June 4 Mailing of Sample Ballots for Primary Election

June 3 - June 8 Early Voting Period

June 10  Primary Election Day

 Candidates may download Petitions and Position on Ballot Forms from the County Clerk’s website https://www.bergencountyclerk.gov/Services/32 

The Municipal Clerk’s office and the Bergen County Clerk’s office does not provide notary services for petitions. Only submit fully complete and notarized petitions.

Local Level Petition for Primary
◦ Petitions must be filed with the Municipal Clerk by March 24^th by 4 pm

◦ Franklin Lakes Democrat and Republican candidates must have 50 signatures

 

Local Level Independent Petition for General Election
◦ Petitions must be filed with the Bergen County Clerk by Primary Election Day by 4 pm

◦ Franklin Lakes Independent candidates must have 250 signatures ** UPDATED 4/11/25 **

 

Board of Education Petition for November School/General

◦ Petitions must be filed with the Bergen County Clerk by July 28^th by 4 pm
