The Old Stone Music and Coffee House

The Old Stone Music and Coffee House – June 5 - Join us at The Old Stone for an evening of great music by the Jimmy Santa Band. Here's what they say about their music: "The band runs the gambit in the music scene: Jazz, Blues, R&R, Show Tunes, Standards, Swing and there’s stuff we haven’t been able to characterize!” They will be performing from 8-10 pm. Doors open at 7:30. $15 cover charge, which includes entry and unlimited coffee, tea, a cold drink and some yummy baked goodies. BYOBOW is allowed.Flyer.

After School Nature Club (Spring Session) | New Jersey Audubon 

Wednesdays April 1st through June 10th 3:30pm-4:30pm for children 4 to 7 years

Join us after school for this 1-hour Wednesday afternoon program! Each day will feature a nature topic, walk, craft, activity, and/or story!

Junior Naturalists Club (Afterschool Spring Session) | New Jersey Audubon

Thursdays April 2nd through June 11th 3:45pm-4:45pm for children 8 to 12 years

During this hour-long program, we will get hands-on discovering nature through outdoor exploration, arts and crafts, science experiments, and more.

Nature Book Club | New Jersey Audubon - FREE

Join Lorrimer Sanctuary for our book discussions on all thing’s nature. Nature Book Club meets the 4th Tuesday of the month to read books focused on nature topics. Books are usually found through BCCLs on Hoopla or Libby. All are welcome! Spring Native Plant Sale | New Jersey Audubon

Tiny Tots World Series of Birding | New Jersey Audubon - FREE

Saturday May 9th 10:30am

Join us for a fun-filled day at the Tiny Tots World Series of Birding! Bring your little nature enthusiasts to explore the wonders of birding in a kid-friendly environment. Lorrimer Sanctuary’s Tiny Tots Team welcomes the youngest birders, those 18 months to 7 years, to search the Sanctuary for birds! For many of our team members, this is their first birdwatching experience EVER, so we make this day super fun with a scavenger hunt, touchable items, and crafts!

Mother’s Day Bird Walk | New Jersey Audubon - FREE

Poisonous Plants – The Sinister Garden Walk | New Jersey Audubon

Saturday June 6th 1:30pm

Head out on a guided tour through our trails, where you’ll encounter a variety of fascinating poisonous plants that have intrigued humans for thousands of years. Our knowledgeable staff will share anecdotes and cautionary tales about these cool (and occasionally sinister!) plants.
Discover the secrets behind well-known plants like Foxglove, Bleeding Heart, and Nightshade as well as their less well-known peers! Learn about their toxic properties, historical uses, the myths and legends surrounding them, and their effects on local wildlife.

Join us each Sunday of Summer for a nature experience for people of all ages! Get ready for some great summer activities at Lorrimer Sanctuary. These drop in programs are designed to be at your own pace. Great for families, adults and kids alike!

Father’s Day Bird Walk | New Jersey Audubon - FREE

Sunday June 21st at 10:30 am

Celebrate Father’s Day with a fun and relaxing bird walk that’s perfect for all ages! Join us in person for a chance to spot some cool feathered friends while enjoying nature and good company. Bring your dad, grandpa, or any special guy in your life for a chill morning of birdwatching and fresh air. No prior experience needed, just your enthusiasm and a love for the outdoors!

Tiny Tots – Summer Series | New Jersey Audubon

Thursdays July 2nd at 10am and 2pm

Toddlers can be naturalists too! Perfect for littles 18 months to 3.5 years old, join us for story time and nature activities! We welcome a new generation of budding naturalists to Lorrimer Sanctuary for this “grown-up-and-me” style program. We will read books, explore outside, and learn about nature in age-appropriate ways for littles!

Coffee and Birds | New Jersey Audubon -FREE

Select Sundays at 10am

Start your morning off right at Lorrimer Sanctuary with a cup of coffee and a front row seat to our new birdwatching facilities! You will be able to relax inside as well as outside on our brand-new observation deck. Bonus points if you bring your own mug! Please register so we know how much to brew!

Nature Art Club: Create Your Own Nature Journal | New Jersey Audubon

Sunday May 24th 2pm

Make your very own nature journal by using craft supplies and materials from the Earth. You can assemble a notebook, a diary, or a sketchbook, the possibilities are endless! Bring back your nature journal to add more to each page for our future Nature Art Club events! Led by Teacher Naturalist and Artist Toni Stober.

Nature Art Club: Cyanotype Printing | New Jersey Audubon

Sunday June 28th at 2pm

Connect with the environment in a fun and unique way with cyanotype printing! Make your own nature-based compositions and let the sun do the printing for you! The program will begin with a short walk on the trails at Lorrimer Sanctuary followed by a printing demonstration. Led by Teacher Naturalist and Artist Toni Stober.

Nature Art Club: Plein Air Painting | New Jersey Audubon

Sunday July 26th at 2pm

Plein Air: a French phrase meaning “in open air,” refers to the act of painting and drawing natural landscapes or subjects in nature. Immerse yourself in the sights and sounds of Lorrimer Sanctuary! Join us for an afternoon of painting and drawing in our meadow. Supplies will be provided. Led by Teacher Naturalist and Artist Toni Stober.
