Garbage and Recycling
The mission of the Garbage and Recycling Department is to promote the health and well-being of individuals in Franklin Lakes by efficient removal and disposal of all household waste. Through education and oversight programs the department works to motivate residents to increase the amount of material they recycle and decrease the levels of garbage they create. Successful implementation of these programs will maximize revenue from sale of recyclables and minimize the cost of solid waste tonnage fees while helping the environment.
