What is the Office of Emergency Management?

The office of Emergency Management is responsible for ensuring that the Borough of Franklin Lakes has a current Emergency Operations Plan in place and for coordinating with all Borough Emergency Services the necessary response to protect lives and property due to a disaster or emergency situation. OEM volunteers including the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT), County Animal Response Team (CART) and OEM Auxiliary members are the first line of support when a disaster occurs. Our CERT team currently has over 60 members!

OEM coordinates training program for residents that prepare a volunteer to take care of their family, neighbors and community. OEM is always looking for more volunteers.
