Library Raffle Winners
From Franklin Lakes Public Library
The Franklin Lakes Public Library introduced a raffle this past December to raise funds for interior renovations. The raffle was comprised of two parts, a 50/50 with 99 winners, and the chance to win a 2025 Land Rover Defender. Over 1,000 tickets were sold for each prize pool with the winners being announced on Franklin Lakes Day, May 19, 2025, at the Lions Club Carnival at Parsons Pond Park.
Cash winners came from far and wide but the majority were Franklin Lakes residents. The winners of the Defender were Mike and Debbie Popolo, long-time residents of Franklin Lakes.
The raffle was a success raising even greater awareness of the Library’s programs and services, and exciting renovation plans. Highlights of the upcoming renovation plans are more activity and reading areas in the Children’s Library; a relocation of the staff desk to be a welcoming point for patrons and more seating in all areas.
This next phase will include a recording studio and podcast space, both of which are very popular amongst libraries across the state. We expect this will attract musically-inclined residents of all ages. The recording space will be named in honor of Eddie Decker, a popular local musician. All donations, including those directed for the recording studio can be submitted online through onecau.se/fll or onecau.se/decker.
