Franklin Lakes Pursues Sustainable Jersey Recertification for 2025

The Borough of Franklin Lakes is proud to announce that we are applying for recertification with Sustainable Jersey in 2025. Building on our 2022 certification - when we were among just 81 municipalities recognized statewide - we are continuing our commitment to a more sustainable future.
To earn recertification, Franklin Lakes departments, Boards, and Committees are actively documenting our progress on key sustainability actions. These efforts not only earn points toward certification, but also demonstrate our long-term commitment to the environment. As part of our 2025 recertification, Franklin Lakes is working to complete several priority actions, including: Energy Tracking & Management, Prescription Drug Safety & Disposal, Recycling and Waste Reduction Education & Compliance, and Sustainable Land Use Pledge.
