One of the most important Borough services is picking up your garbage and recycling. When there are issues, we want to make sure that you have a simple and effective way of addressing them. To that end, we are implementing a process.
If you have a garbage or recycling question or complaint, or want to report on a missed pickup, you can:
Call the NEW Garbage & Recycling Hotline at (201) 891-4000, extension 3700.
During the workday, calls will be answered by Nancy Durkin, Recycling Coordinator or messages will be promptly returned; OR
Email your issue to garbage@franklinlakes.org and, during the workday, you will receive a prompt response.
If calls or emails are made during off-hours, you will receive a return call or email the following morning.
Put Your Garbage and Recycling Out Early
The most common reason that there are "missed" pickups is that Gaeta, to address increased volume or because of staffing-related issues, adjusts pick-up schedules or routes. Though Gaeta will not be picking up until 7:00 AM, to ensure that there are no issues, we recommend that garbage and recycling be put to the curb the night before your scheduled pick-up day or by 6:00 AM the morning of pick up.
