The first annual Ramadan Lighting Ceremony was performed by the American Muslim Community of Franklin Lakes, Moutaz Charaf - Muslim Chaplain and the Imam of El-Zahra Islamic Center, and the Mayor and Council. Ramadan is a holiday observed by Muslims in the United States and around the world every year. During this month, Muslims abstain from food and drink from dawn till dusk, practice compassion with charity, pray and celebrate.
