During the surge of COVID cases during March and April of 2020, many volunteer EMTs throughout the State asked to take a leave of absence until the crisis abated. Twelve members of the Franklin Lakes Ambulance Corps insisted on remaining on active service and continued to respond to calls. These twelve members received "COVID-19 Responder" commendation bars and Certificates of Recognition signed by Governor Phil Murphy and Mayor Frank Bivona in recognition of their dedication to their community and the cause of volunteerism.

The text of the certificate reads as follows:
"During the onset of the COVID-19 Pandemic, the worst global health crisis in over a century, the Franklin Lakes Volunteer Ambulance Corps offered their volunteers the option to stand down and remain at home until the crisis abated. At great risk of personal peril, these twelve members selflessly refused to abandon their posts and continued to serve their community to ensure that the sick and injured of Franklin Lakes and the surrounding areas would continue to receive care. Their unwavering dedication and spirit of volunteerism embodies a wholehearted service to others that is duly recognized and commended."

Join us is thanking the Ambulance Corps for their steadfast dedication and service to the Borough of Franklin Lakes.
