Clean Up Day

From the Environmental Commission
The morning of Saturday, May 15, 2021 was perfect. Not only did we finally get a perfect weather day for our annual cleanup, we had more volunteers that expected and they were all eager to make Franklin Lakes sparkle. And that they did. From ages four and up, yellow shirts bearing the logo "Pride in Franklin Lakes is Picking Up" and carrying environmentally friendly "biodegradable bags" for the first time, filled the landscapes around McBride Field, the Nature Preserve and the trails around the tennis courts on Old Mill Road. While volunteers cleaned up the trails and shore side of the Nature  Preserve, volunteers from Ramsey Outdoor used their boats and expertise to clean the shore line.

The Environmental Commission wants to thank everyone who participated in Cleanup Day and those people include not only our tireless volunteers, Mayor Bivona, Dina Robinson, Community Director, DPW workers who kept the cleanup work all moving, the Police Department who made us all safe and the Fire Department. The scene turned out to be a rich tapestry of our beautiful town. It will be remembered for posterity in the photos of the work in progress. Click here to view the photos.

Thank you, Franklin Lakes, for a job well done!
