As indicated in a press release issued by the Police Department on Monday morning, there was an incident at McCoy Place, the supportive needs housing development located at the corner of Colonial Road and McCoy Road, on Sunday night. The Police Department responded and quickly secured the crime scene. They arrested the three perpetrators and recovered a handgun.

McCoy Place consists of 39 one-bedroom supportive housing units and an apartment for a live-in property manager. It is fully occupied with income eligible disabled households, meeting the HUD definition of disabled, and in need of supportive services.
None of the perpetrators were residents of McCoy Place. The McCoy Place community has had no significant history of criminal conduct or conduct that is a threat to the safety of the community. Because the crime scene was quickly secured by the Police Department, this incident presented no threat to the community.
