The Franklin Lakes Police Department announced the arrest of 26-year-old MANPREET SINGH of Oakland, NJ on multiple lewdness charges. The arrest was the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, under the direction of Chief Jeff Angermeyer, and the Franklin Lakes Police Department, under the direction of Chief Mark McCombs.
On Thursday, May 28, 2026, the Franklin Lakes Police Department contacted the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit regarding lewd incidents that were alleged to have occurred at the Delta Gas station on Franklin Avenue in Franklin Lakes, NJ. A joint investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office and the Franklin Lakes Police Department revealed that MANPREET SINGH, an employee of the gas station, committed lewd acts on the property of the gas station while in the area of vehicles that were occupied by customers. Detectives determined that SINGH masturbated while near the occupied vehicles at the gas station on at least three different occasions.
As a result of the investigation, on Thursday, July 9, 2026, MANPREET SINGH was arrested in Oakland, NJ and charged with three disorderly person offenses of lewdness, N.J.S.A. 2C:14-4. SINGH was released pending a first appearance in Bergen County Superior Court in Hackensack, NJ.

BERDAN age 29 of Hewitt, NJ was arrested for an outstanding warrant emanating from Central Municipal Court Bergen County, NJ. As a result of a motor vehicle stop investigation on Rt. 208 North near Colonial Road, Wilber R. CHECOFELIX age 25 of PATERSON NJ, was arrested for a warrant emanating from Woodbridge, NJ. Further investigation revealed the vehicle he was operating had been reported stolen. CHECOFELIX was subsequently charged with receiving a stolen motor vehicle and issued multiple traffic summonses. Officers responded to the area of Colonial Road and McCoy Road in reference to a report of a male sitting along the roadway. Upon arrival, officers made contact with a male subject who stated he was seated on the roadside due to being fatigued from running. Further investigation revealed the subject to be Kenichi Takahara, age 34, of Oakland , NJ, who had an active warrant emanating from Wayne, NJ. TAKAHARA was subsequently placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters without incident. PO Heffner and PO O’Connor Investigated.
As a result of a motor vehicle stop investigation on Franklin Ave near Cherry St of a white 2006 Acura TL the operator Brianna S. FINLEY age 24 of Jersey City, NJ and passenger Kezont E. COLEY age 24 of Paterson, NJ were arrested on outstanding warrants. FINLEY was transferred into the custody of Bergen County Sheriff’s Department and COLEY transferred to the custody of Stanhope Police. PO Messina and Sgt. Zangara investigated.
