The Borough of Franklin Lakes in Bergen County seeks an experienced full-time Chief Financial Officer who holds a New Jersey CMFO license with 5+ years’ experience in a municipal finance setting. Current CFO retiring after 18 years. The Borough operates a $21.5 million Operating Budget, and Sewer Utility budget. The key responsibilities are as follows: prepare and maintain annual operating and capital budgets, bank reconciliations, maintain general ledger, cash management, debt management, assist with audits, oversee capital and trust funds, monitor internal financial controls, supervise staff, assist with payroll process, review tax filings, and handle special projects and other related duties as needed. The qualified candidate must possess the following qualifications: CMFO certification, strong management, mathematical, and analytical skills, professional demeanor, excellent communication abilities, knowledge of NJ law, and proficiency in Excel. Experience with Edmunds is preferred. Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications.
