Charlie Landers Field Dedication Ceremony
From The Community Director
Sunday, May 22nd Franklin Lakes Recreation and Parks dedicated the Pulis Avenue 90 foot Baseball Field in memory of Charlie Landers. Charlie (#7) played travel baseball for the Franklin Lakes War Eagles from 2013 to 2019. Charlie was a true Franklin Lakes War Eagle. His passion for baseball and love for his friends, family and teammates set an example for all War Eagles. In 2019, Charlie was diagnosed with Ewing Sarcoma, a rare pediatric cancer, and, after a courageous two-and-a-half year battle, on March 8, 2022, the Landers lost their son. Charlie's legacy isn't cancer, it’s joy. Thank you to all who came to celebrate this special occasion with us.
All proceeds from the field dedication ceremony will go to The Charlie Landers Foundation, whose mission is to raise awareness, provide support to pediatric and young adult patients, and fund research which ultimately creates a lasting cure for Ewing Sarcoma. The Charlie Landers Foundation was inspired by Charlie’s resolve to strike out Ewing Sarcoma forever! Click here to view the album with photos.
