Officers Receive Award

New Jersey State Police Sgt. Lance Visone, Franklin Lakes Police Sgt. Donald Wilson and Ptl. Matt Garrison were awarded with the John R. Rinaldi Service Award from the 200 Club of Bergen County for their actions on June 22nd 2022.

On that evening, officers responded to a pedestrian struck on Interstate 287 North. Upon arrival, officers confirmed significant upper body trauma to the victim and immediately applied multiple tourniquets to control bleeding. Shortly after application, an automated external defibrillator was utilized and numerous rounds of life saving CPR were administered in efforts to reestablish a pulse for the victim.

With assistance from New Jersey State Police, Mahwah Police and Mahwah EMS, officers prevented the victim from succumbing to the significant injuries sustained.
