Medical Waste Disposal

Needles and/or syringes must be placed in a protective container made of metal, tin or hard plastic such as a coffee can, detergent or bleach bottle. The lid must be placed back on and the container taped closed.  Dispose container in your regular trash and not recycling. Also, red sharps container can be purchased in your pharmacy. All of the above can be disposed of safely in your regular trash pickup. Contact the Board of Health at 201-891-4000, Ext. 1209 for additional information.
