G. Thomas Donch Nature Preserve - Access Road Remains CLOSED Until Further Notice
The access road to the G. Thomas Donch Nature Preserve, off of High Mountain Road, remains CLOSED. The work to repair the storm damage is anticipated to begin this Spring. The road remains unsafe as the culvert under the road is collapsing. The majority of the costs for repairs will be paid through a Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) grant. Unfortunately, we cannot project a date for reopening the access road at this time.
The Nature Preserve will continue to be open from dawn to dusk, but the parking lot and the road leading to the parking lot will be closed. Park access will be on foot only, with parking on adjacent streets, where permitted. Kayaks and paddleboards are permitted, but must be carried in. The Borough will provide updates as further information becomes available.
