NJ Special Olympic Sports Equipment Drive

March 12 – April 30

The Franklin Lakes Recreation Department is proud to partner with GearGive to host a Sports Equipment Drive benefiting Special Olympics New Jersey. This initiative encourages our community to donate gently used sports equipment that can be repurposed to support athletes and programs across New Jersey.

Residents are invited to donate gently used and fully functional sports gear, including equipment for baseball, softball, lacrosse, tennis, football, golf, and hockey. Donation bins will be located at Franklin Lakes Borough Hall and the Recreation Office, making it easy for families to contribute while helping reduce waste and support a meaningful cause. 

Through GearGive’s “Equip. Empower. Earn.” program, donated equipment is collected and repurposed to raise funds and expand access to sports opportunities for athletes participating in Special Olympics programs. The initiative helps ensure that quality equipment continues to serve athletes while promoting sustainability and community giving. 

Franklin Lakes Recreation is committed to building a community where sports, wellness, and inclusivity are accessible to everyone. By supporting this equipment drive, residents can help empower Special Olympics athletes while giving new life to sports gear that might otherwise go unused.

We encourage all residents to check their garages, closets, and equipment bags and consider donating items that are still in good working condition.
