63 Years of Exemplary Service to Borough of Franklin Lakes
The Borough of Franklin Lakes sadly shares the news of the passing of Julius “Jules” Lauber, who had a remarkable 63 years of service as a devoted Planning Board Chairman, Vice Chair, and member. Jules had dedicated himself tirelessly to the betterment of our community. His leadership and wisdom have been instrumental in guiding the Planning Board through crucial decisions that have preserved the Borough of Franklin Lakes’ unique character. Recently, Jules was recognized for his years of service with accommodations from Governor Phil Murphy, New Jersey Senate and New Jersey Planning Officials.
Under Jules' guidance, the Planning Board worked to protect Franklin Lakes' natural beauty. His commitment to sustainable growth ensured that development projects respected the environment. Jules spearheaded efforts to maintain the Borough's rural feel, balancing the need for growth with a respect for tradition.
Known for his humor and keen insight, Jules brought a wealth of historical knowledge to every meeting. He offered firsthand accounts of the town's development over the years, providing context and clarity for new proposals.

A Memorial service will be held Sunday, September 28th, 2025 from 3-5p.m. at the Borough Hall, Council Chambers, 480 DeKorte Drive, Franklin Lakes, NJ. All are welcome to attend.
