Stolen vehicles are sometimes used in the commission of other crimes, involved in motor vehicle pursuits and operated in a reckless and dangerous manner by unlicensed or suspended drivers. Stolen purses, wallets and laptops are used in identify fraud and negatively impact personal financial records.

These crimes arise from opportunity. Thieves capitalize in environments when they are successful; their success rate is determined by the vigilance of our residents. The first step should be to simply lock your vehicle, remove valuables and key FOB and park in a lit area. Thieves driving down a residential street or using satellite imagery (Google Earth) can spot potential victim cars by the positioning of side-view mirrors. Vehicle manufactures install these options as a convenience, please familiarize yourself with your vehicles options.
