Recycle Plastic Bags and Plastic Film

From the Recycling Coordinator We are trying to keep plastic bags and plastic film out of the garbage stream. These items cannot be put into curbside recycling and cannot be brought down to the recycling center.

The following locations will take clean and dry plastic bags and plastic film - which includes grocery, bread and dry cleaning bags, the plastic wrap around paper plates, napkins, bathroom tissue, water bottles, and diapers:
  • Market Basket - 813 Franklin Lake Road, Franklin Lakes, located by the shopping cart corral.
  • Shop Rite in Oakland - 14 Post Road, Oakland,
located at the entrance to the store.
  • Target - 94 Route 23 North, Riverdale, container located as you are leaving the store.
When recycling these items please be mindful that you are recycling the correct items. The bags and plastic film items need to be clean, dry and not contain any food debris. Once cross contamination enters these containers, they will be considered garbage and have to go into the garbage stream. Do not put disposable gloves or masks in these containers.
