Arbor Day 2023
The Shade Tree Commission commemorated Arbor Day 2023 on Friday, April 28, 2023. The work party planted trees and cleaned up the Borough Shade Tree Farm located at the Franklin Lakes Nature Preserve. The tree farm is managed by the Shade Tree Commission and young trees are planted in the fenced space. After growing trees are later harvested, they are planted primarily in the Borough’s parks.

For centuries, communities spanning the globe have found various ways to honor nature and the environment.
