Register for Emergency Notifications on Nixle

The Borough of Franklin Lakes is utilizing a community alert notification service called Nixle, which will alert residents on localized emergency situations and relevant community advisories. Nixle will be administered through the Franklin Lakes Police Department.

The Borough will create and publish messages through Nixle. Nixle will then deliver this information to residents instantly through text or email. Typically, this will be real-time communication on issues such as paving projects, road closings, storm information, emergency management alerts, garbage and recycling schedule changes, and public events.

The system provides a quick, efficient, and secure way to get neighborhood-level information out to community members who subscribe to the system. The Borough will be able to send text messages and email alerts to subscribers in the area.

As a resident, there are two simple ways to register:

    1. Text 07417 or FLPD to 888777 from your mobile phone.
    2. Sign up via the Nixle Widget above.

Once registered, residents will receive a confirmation text to their mobile device. They can then decide what information they want and whether they want it sent to their cell phone or email. All alerts will be targeted geographically, allowing residents to receive localized, relevant alerts from the Borough.

Nixle is a secure communications service available to municipal, county and state government agencies. The system is available at no cost (standard messaging rates apply).

This convenient and reliable service is another tool that the Borough and its Police Department can use to keep residents informed.
