Dog & Cat Licenses

When to Obtain A Pet License

New Pet:    Newly acquired dogs must be licensed within 10 days of acquisition or within 10 days of reaching the licensing age of 7 months.  Cats brought into the Borough shall be licensed within 90 days or upon reaching the licensing age of 5 months.

Annual Renewal:    Every year during the month of March paid for by March 31.

IMPORTANT: The March 31 renewal deadline applies to completed payment, not date of submission. Pet owners are responsible for submitting a complete application with sufficient time to accommodate municipal approval and payment processing. We encourage submitting your application by March 20 to avoid delays. A $15 per pet late fee will be assessed on any renewal not paid in full by March 31. Per New Jersey State law, rabies vaccination must be valid through January 1 of next year. A booster is required for pets not in compliance.
