During a routine patrol, Officer Coia encountered a disabled vehicle on Colonial Road. The driver, Catherine J. HOLT age 23 of Ho-Ho-Kus, NJ informed the officer that she had run out of gas. Upon further investigation, it was determined that HOLT was operating the vehicle under the influence. HOLT was subsequently arrested for driving under the influence and issued multiple traffic summonses. PO Coia and PO Heffner investigated. Franklin Lakes Police received a call for a motor vehicle crash involving an unoccupied parked vehicle near Franklin Ave and Pulis Ave. The caller reported the suspect vehicle had left the scene. Officers were quickly able to locate the suspect vehicle that had struck the parked vehicle. Their investigation revealed that the driver of a white 2023 Honda Accord, Arlene E. MUTZBERG age 69 of Franklin Lakes, NJ was operating the vehicle under the influence of alcohol. The driver was arrested and charged with Driving Under the Influence and issued multiple traffic summonses. There were no injuries to report. PO Garrison and PO Rosado investigated. As a result of a motor vehicle stop investigation on I-287 south on a 2024 Isuzu FTR Truck, Joseph Williams III age 31 of Somerset, NJ was arrested for an outstanding warrant emanating from Edison, NJ. PO Iandoli investigated.

Franklin Lakes PD identified two household residents with outstanding warrants. Officers arrived at the residence and placed Alize T. GEORGE age 27 of Franklin Lakes, NJ under arrest for a warrant emanating from Jersey City, NJ and Anthony J. WAYE age 33 of Franklin Lakes, NJ under arrest for a warrant emanating from Hudson County without incident. GEORGE was released to Jersey City Police and WAYE was released to Hudson County Sheriff’s Office. Sgt. Blum, PO Sweeney and PO Lauritano investigated.

As a result of a motor vehicle stop investigation on High Mountain Rd, Saulo PATRICIOPATRICIO, age 35 of Paterson, NJ was arrested for warrants emanating from Elmwood Park, NJ. PO Foschini and Sgt. Zangara investigated.

As a result of a motor vehicle stop investigation on Rt 208 North, Bryant  SANTIBANEZ, age 26 of Paterson, NJ was arrested for an outstanding warrant emanating from Paterson, NJ.  Paterson PD responded to headquarters and received custody of SANTIBANEZ. PO Shutrop investigated.

Franklin Lakes PD was contacted by New Jersey State Police – Garden State Parkway Bloomfield Barracks advising troopers arrested Erick M. GONZALEZ-COLON age 33 of Hackensack, NJ for an outstanding warrant emanating from Franklin Lakes, NJ. FLPD officers received custody of GONZALEZ-COLON and he was transported to the Bergen County Jail.

As a result of a motor vehicle stop investigation on Rt 287 of a green 2004 Honda Odyssey, Alex F. ROMANRIVERA age 49 of Haledon, NJ was arrested for outstanding warrants emanating from Wayne, NJ and Lincoln Park, NJ. PO Iandoli investigated.

As a result of a motor vehicle stop investigation on a black 2015 Jeep Compass on Summit Ave, Maikel M. CAMACHO age 33 of Paterson, NJ was arrested for an outstanding warrant emanating from Franklin Lakes, NJ. PO Garrison and PO Sweeney investigated.

As a result of a motor vehicle stop investigation on Rt 208 south of a grey 2019 Toyota Tundra, Joshua D. NATALIE age 39 of Washington Twp, NJ was charged and arrested for driving while intoxicated and issued multiple summonses including refusing to submit to breath testing. PO Garrison, Sgt. Blum and PO Lauritano investigated. Officers were dispatched to a business on Franklin Avenue in response to a report of a suspicious male attempting to reclaim a lost credit card. Employees of the establishment determined that the individual was being untruthful, denied his request, and contacted FLPD. Upon arrival, PO Foschini conducted an investigation and identified the suspect.  A complaint warrant was issued for Aisaih ALVAREZ age 27 of Englewood, NJ charging him with criminal attempt, theft by deception, impersonation, and credit card theft.  At approximately 9:00 PM, the New Jersey State Police notified FLPD that they had arrested ALVAREZ. FLPD officers received custody of ALVAREZ and he was subsequently transported to the Bergen County Jail. Officers were dispatched to a Juniper Pl residence to investigate an activated residential burglar alarm. Officers observed forcible entry was made into the unoccupied home and confirmed the home was burglarized. Det. Sgt. Rynander is investigating with the assistance of Bergen County Sheriff’s Office Bureau of Criminal Investigation.

As a result of a motor vehicle stop investigation on a grey 2009 Honda Civic on Rt 208 south, Kyle ENNIS age 35 of Kingston, NY and Cassie C. CROWLEY age 34 of Kingston, NY were arrested and charged with possession of CDS and possession of drug paraphernalia. CROWLEY was issued multiple traffic summonses. PO Garrison, Sgt. Blum, PO Sweeney and PO Lauritano investigated. As a result of a motor vehicle stop investigation on a silver 2003 Honda Accord on Rt 208 north, Leonardo E. CAMEROROJAS age 26 of Paterson, NJ was arrested for outstanding warrants emanating from Closter, NJ and Wayne, NJ. PO O’Connor and Sgt. Pellegrino investigated.

During Municipal Court proceedings, it was discovered that Alexis K. FERRARA age 41 of Wayne, NJ had an outstanding warrant emanating from Wayne, NJ. Additionally, the defendant was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia. FERRARA was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and remanded to the Bergen County Jail. As a result of a motor vehicle stop investigation on High Mountain Rd near Rt 208 south of a 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee, Gina M. MILLS age 48 of North Haledon was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated and issued multiple summonses. As a result of a motor vehicle stop investigation on Rt 208 north, Richard J. KASE age 26 of Greenwood Lake, NY was arrested for an outstanding warrant emanating from the Joint Municipal Court of Madison, the Chathams & Harding Twp, NJ. PO O’Connor investigated.

As a result of a motor vehicle stop investigation of a white 2015 Ram 1500 on Rt 208 north, the operator Jason C. ELSNER age 48 of West Milford, NJ was arrested and charged with possession of CDS, possession of CDS with intent to distribute and possession of drug paraphernalia, ELSNER was issued multiple traffic summonses. Sgt. Blum, PO Rosado and PO Lauritano investigated. As a result of a motor vehicle stop investigation on a white 1998 Ford F250, a passenger Fred M. GALLER age 49 of Paterson, NJ was arrested and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and had an outstanding warrant emanating from Haledon, NJ. PO Lauritano and Sgt. Pellegrino investigated. As a result of an investigation originating from the December 11th Franklin Lakes Municipal Court Session, officers discovered Shakila I TYLER age 38 of Jersey City, NJ had a warrant emanating from Jersey City, NJ. Custody was transferred to Jersey City PD. PO Rosado investigated.

As a result of a motor vehicle stop investigation on McCoy Road, Miguel D. DUARTEVIELMAN age 38 of North Bergen, NJ was arrested for a warrant emanating from the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office. Bergen County Sheriff’s Office received custody of DUARTEVIELMAN. PO Iandoli and Sgt. Klien investigated.

Communications received a report of an activated smoke alarm at 962 Arapaho Trail. Franklin Lakes Police and Fire were dispatched.  Upon arrival officers observed smoke and fire emanating from the structure and confirmed occupants of the residence were safely evacuated.  They were medically evaluated on-site and determined to require no medical attention.  Three dogs were also successfully evacuated from the residence but two cats perished in the fire despite rescue efforts.  Fire departments from Oakland, Ramsey, Wyckoff, Mahwah, Midland Park and North Haledon also responded to assist with firefighting efforts.  The Franklin Lakes Ambulance Corps and Valley Hospital ALS were also on scene.  The cause of the fire is still under investigation and no further information is available at this time.

Franklin Lakes PD received a 911 transfer reporting a motor vehicle crash involving a utility pole in the area of High Mountain Rd and Summit Ave. Officers were dispatched and located 2023 Toyota sport utility vehicle that struck a utility pole causing significant damage to the vehicle and pole. Upon further investigation, Officers determined the sole occupant/operator was driving the vehicle under the influence. James E HORNBY age 40 of Mahwah, NJ was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated and issued multiple traffic summonses. PO Rosado and Sgt. Blum investigated. As a result of a motor vehicle stop investigation on RT 208 north, Joshua J. DOCKRILL age 31 of Ringwood, NJ was arrested for a warrant emanating from Ringwood, NJ. PO O’Connor and Sgt. Pellegrino investigated.

As a result of a motor vehicle stop investigation on RT 208 North, Christopher W. MORGAN age 41 of North Arlington, NJ and Stephanie A. SWORDS age 36 of Mahwah, NJ were both arrested and charged with possession of CDS. MORGAN was issued several motor vehicle summons including possession of CDS and an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle.  PO Foschini, Sgt. Blum and PO Rosado investigated. As a result of a motor vehicle stop investigation on Ewing Ave, Jesus ROBLES age 30 of Hawthorne, NJ was arrested for warrants emanating from Paterson and Secaucus, NJ. PO Coia and PO Sweeney investigated.

As a result of a motor vehicle stop investigation on Rt 208 north, Ricardo CAMACHO Jr. age 43 of Boonton, NJ was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated. PO Garrison investigated. Criminal charges and traffic violations are merely allegations and all defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.

Officers were dispatched to a Franklin Ave business on a report of an individual soliciting in violation of borough ordinance. Officers located the individual near the exit of the business, investigation revealed Mirela Hessen SERBAN age 43 of Bogota, NJ had two outstanding warrants emanating from Brick and Manalapan, NJ. SERBAN was arrested and issued a summons for violation of borough ordinance. Sgt. Blum and PO Coia investigated.

Officers were dispatched to a Packer Ave residence to investigate an activated residential burglar alarm. Upon arrival, officers noticed signs of forced entry, confirming that the home had been burglarized. Bergen County Sheriff’s Department K-9 Unit and Bureau of Criminal Investigation-Crime Scene Unit assisted with the investigation. Det. O’Brien is actively investigating the incident.

Officers were dispatched to a Franklin Avenue business on a reported possible medical emergency in a vehicle. Officers determined there was no medical emergency and the operator, Vanessa MASTRANGELO age 47 of Franklin Lakes, NJ, was driving while intoxicated and arrested. MASTRANGELO was charged with driving while intoxicated, possession of CDS and several motor vehicle offenses. Criminal charges and traffic violations are merely allegations and all defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.

 As a result of a motor vehicle stop investigation on Summit Avenue, Dario A. CACERES-MORILLO age 48 of Franklin Lakes, NJ was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated. PO Iandoli, PO Heffner and Sgt. Klein investigated. Officers responded to a Dara Ln residence to investigate a stolen package. Officers confirmed via surveillance footage a suspect removing a package from the residence front steps and fleeing. PO Lauritano investigated.

Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of STEPHEN BOJEKIAN, 69, of Franklin Lakes, NJ, on the charge of possession of child sexual abuse material. The arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Matthew Finck.

On Thursday, October 17, 2024, members of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Cyber Crimes Unit executed a search warrant at the residence of STEPHEN BOJEKIAN during the course of an Internet child sexual abuse material investigation. The investigation revealed that BOJEKIAN used the Internet to view, download, and possess items depicting nude and/or sexually explicit prepubescent and pubescent children.

As a result of the investigation, STEPHEN BOJEKIAN was arrested on Thursday, October 17, 2024, in Paramus, NJ and charged with third-degree possession of child pornography, N.J.S.A. 2C:24-4(b)5(b)(iii). BOJEKIAN was remanded to the Morris County Jail pending a first appearance in Bergen County Superior Court in Hackensack, NJ.

Prosecutor Musella states that the charge is merely an accusation and that the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. Prosecutor Musella thanks the Franklin Lakes Police Department and New Jersey State Police for their assistance, as well as the Woodcliff Lake and Washington Township Police Departments, which both participate in the Bergen County Cyber Crimes Task Force.

As a result of a motor vehicle stop investigation on Franklin Ave, Kenneth M. MARTINEZ age 34, was arrested for a warrant emanating from Clifton, NJ. Clifton Police Department received custody of MARTINEZ. PO Iandoli investigated.

As a result of a motor vehicle stop investigation on Franklin Lake Rd, Kyle D. STRADFORD age 28 of East Orange, NJ was arrested for warrants emanating from Union, West Orange and Secaucus, NJ. PO Cestaro investigated.

As the result of a motor vehicle stop investigation on Colonial Rd, Danielle GREGORY age 32 of Bayonne, NJ was arrested for a warrant emanating from Pequannock, NJ. PO Foschini and PO Hill investigated.

YUBI age 58 of Hackensack, NJ was arrested for warrants emanating from Bergen County Central Municipal Court, Fanwood, Elizabeth and Bogota. YUBI was released into the custody of Bogota Police Dept. 08/04/2024 1:32 PM- Officers were dispatched to a Trailing Ridge Rd home to investigate an attempted burglary as called in by the resident. Responding officers contacted FLPD Detectives and detectives from the Bergen County Sheriff’s Bureau of Criminal Investigation-Crime Scene Unit. Det. C. 08/02/2024 9:23 PM – Officers were dispatched to a Sussex Rd home to investigate an activated residential burglar alarm. Officers discovered the residence was burglarized and contacted FLPD Detectives, Bergen County Sheriff’s K-9 Unit and detectives from the Bergen County Sheriff’s Bureau of Criminal Investigation-Crime Scene Unit. 08/02/2024 11:38 AM – As a result of a motor vehicle stop investigation on Pulis Ave, Alan J. GUZMANCAPELO age 24 of Newark, NJ was arrested and charged with hindering apprehension and a passenger in the vehicle, Jennifer P. FERNANDEZ age 22 of Union City, NJ was arrested for a warrant emanating from Jersey City, NJ. PO Rosado investigated. Franklin Lakes officers were dispatched to the intersection of Franklin Lake Rd and Scholar Ct after receiving notification via SPEN Radio on a report of a crashed electric bicycle. Responding officers found the operator seated on the curb next to the electric bicycle. Upon further investigation, officers arrested and charged Glen T. GARDNER age 50 of Oakland, NJ with driving under the influence and refusal to submit to breath tests and issued multiple summonses. Sgt. Blum, PO Tani and PO Hill investigated. Franklin Lakes officers were dispatched to Rt 208 north near the Colonial Rd exit after receiving a 911 call regarding a vehicle stopped in a lane of travel. PO Tani located the 2004 Honda Accord stopped in the center lane of Rt 208 north obstructing the passage of traffic, the male driver was awoken by PO Tani. Upon further investigation, officers located suspected heroin in the vehicle and placed the driver Darren DOMENICI age 40 of Tuxedo Park, NY under arrest for possession of CDS and driving under the influence, DOMENICI was issued additional summonses for driving while suspended, possessing CDS in a motor vehicle, operating an unregistered vehicle, reckless driving, careless driving, failure to exhibit documents and delaying traffic. PO Tani and PO Rosado investigated.  DOMENICI was previously arrested by Franklin Lakes Police on 04/18/2024 on Rt 208 south for driving under the influence, possession of CDS, tampering with evidence, possession of drug paraphernalia, and hindering apprehension. Criminal charges and traffic violations are merely allegations and all defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.

As a result of a shoplifting investigation that occurred at a Franklin Avenue business, Det. C. O’Brien charged Cristinel POENARU age 32 of Baltimore, MD and Cristian BADEA age 32 of Baltimore, MD with shoplifting. Criminal charges and traffic violations are merely allegations and all defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.

 As a result of a single motor vehicle crash investigation on Rt 208 North near the Colonial Rd exit, Zakaria S. KATAW age 20 of Bloomingdale, NJ was arrested and charged with driving under the influence. PO Heffner, PO Iandoli and PO Shutrop investigated. Criminal charges and traffic violations are merely allegations and all defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.

As the result of two separate shoplifting incidents occurring at a Franklin Avenue business on May 19^th 2024 and June 28^th 2024, Det. Rynander and Det. C. O’Brien charged Valerio RODANO age 36 of Wayne, NJ with shoplifting. Criminal charges and traffic violations are merely allegations and all defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.

As a result of a pedestrian hit and run accident investigation on Franklin Avenue on May 25, 2024, Eva A. EBRAHIM age 36 of Ringwood, NJ was charged with assault by auto and issued several motor vehicle summonses including leaving the scene of an accident. Sgt. Pellegrino investigated. Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of CLYDE JOHNSON, 26, of Fair Lawn, NJ on charges of false public alarm. The arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Matthew Finck.

In March 2024, members of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Cyber Crimes Unit and Intelligence and Counterterrorism Unit initiated an investigation into a pattern of anonymous hoax phone calls and emails directed to crisis centers, local businesses, and law enforcement agencies regarding an individual armed with a deadly weapon or explosive. The investigation revealed that in January, March and April 2024, CLYDE JOHNSON made false reports via phone and email affecting locations and law enforcement agencies in Bergen County, NJ, specifically Franklin Lakes, Paramus, Wyckoff, Maywood, Fair Lawn, Fort Lee, and Bergenfield.

As a result of the investigation, CLYDE JOHNSON was charged with four counts of second-degree false public alarm, N.J.S.A 2C:33-3a(1)(b); third-degree attempted false public alarm, N.J.S.A. 2C:5-1a(1) / 2C:33-3a(1)(b); and third-degree false public alarm, N.J.S.A 2C:33-3a(1)(a). With the coordination and assistance of the New York City Police Department and U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Homeland Security Investigations, CLYDE JOHNSON was arrested on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, in Queens, New York. JOHNSON was remanded to the Queens County Jail, awaiting extradition to New Jersey.

As a result of a motor vehicle stop investigation on High Mountain Rd, Brayan C. RICOSILVA age 23 of Elizabeth, NJ was arrested for an outstanding warrant emanating from Elizabeth, NJ. PO O’Connor investigated.  

As the result of a motor vehicle stop investigation on Ewing Avenue, Paul NONAS age 20 of Allendale, NJ was arrested for driving under the influence and issued multiple traffic summonses.  PO O’Connor and Sgt. As a result of a motor vehicle stop investigation on Colonial Road near Sunset Terrace, Dracy JACKSON age 30 of Newark, NJ was arrested for traffic warrants emanating from Newark, NJ. PO Foschini and PO Rosado investigated.

As the result of a motor vehicle stop investigation on Franklin Avenue, Robert F. PAEPRER age 68 of Franklin Lakes, NJ was arrested for driving under the influence and issued multiple traffic summonses.  Sgt. Pellegrino and PO O’Connor investigated.  Officers were dispatched to the area of Aztec Trail on a report of a vehicle that struck a mailbox. Officers conducted a motor vehicle stop investigation on the suspect vehicle and the operator, Gazmen ZIBA age 61 of Wayne, NJ was arrested for driving under the influence and issued multiple traffic summonses. Criminal charges and traffic violations are merely allegations and all defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.

Franklin Lakes officers were dispatched to Rt 208 North near the I-287 interchange for 3 car motor vehicle crash. Upon determining no injuries occurred to any occupants, officers continued their investigation and determined the operator of the vehicle that initiated the crash was under the influence. Christopher MARTINELLI age 24 of Pompton Plains, NJ was issued several traffic summonses and arrested for driving under the influence, possession of CDS and possession of drug paraphernalia. As a result of a motor vehicle stop investigation on I-287 South, Matthew J. CHISHOLM age 37 of Paterson, NJ, was arrested for outstanding warrants emanating from Haledon, NJ and Lodi, NJ. PO Cestaro and Sgt. Pellegrino investigated.

As a result of a motor vehicle stop investigation on Rt 208 South, Darren DOMENICI age 40 of Tuxedo Park, NY was arrested for driving under the influence, possession of CDS, tampering with evidence, possession of drug paraphernalia and hindering apprehension and issued numerous traffic summonses. PO Garrison and PO O’Connor investigated. Criminal charges and traffic violations are merely allegations and all defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.

Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of KEWIN SEPULVEDA (DOB: 06/17/1994; single; massage therapist) of 398 Sussex Street, Paterson, NJ on a charge of sexual assault. The arrest was the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love and the Franklin Lakes Police Department under the direction of Chief Mark McCombs.

On Saturday, January 13, 2024, the Franklin Lakes Police Department received information that KEWIN SEPULVEDA engaged in sexual activity with an individual while giving a massage at the Hand and Stone Spa in Franklin Lakes, NJ on the previous day. An investigation was initiated by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit and the Franklin Lakes Police Department.

As a result of the investigation, on Thursday, January 18, 2024, KEWIN SEPULVEDA was arrested in Paramus, NJ and charged with second-degree sexual assault, N.J.S.A. 2C:14-2c(1). SEPULVEDA was remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending his first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack, NJ.

Prosecutor Musella states that the charge is merely an accusation and that the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. He would like to thank the Franklin Lakes Police Department for its assistance in this investigation.
