The goal of the Borough of Franklin Lakes is to be in compliance with the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection’s (DEP) mandate that 60% of waste be removed from the solid waste stream. The Borough provides weekly curbside collection of paper recycling alternating with commingled container recycling. The Franklin Lakes Department of Public Works (DPW) operates drop-off facilities for leaves, rechargeable batteries and electronic waste such as old TV’s, computers and stereos. The DPW also offers curbside collection for metal and appliance such as metal poles, washers, dryers and refrigerators. Bergen County Utilities Authority (BCUA) provides drop-off facilities for household hazardous waste and tires. Residents are encouraged to Reduce, Reuse, Recycle!!!

  Recycling Depot at the DPW - Drop-Off Center

Drop-off electronic waste, books, clothing, household and rechargeable batteries at the Recycling Depot at the DPW - Drop-Off Center. The Recycling Depot also accepts Paper/Cardboard, Commingled Plastic/Metal/Glass, and Metal/Appliances.
